The Science Musuem

The Science Musuem in London is very interactive with it's visitors. There
are quizzes and games on computers that can be played on the top floor. There is
also a big display of NASA equipments and information about space which
is always a plus since that is one of my favorite subjects.
The musuem also provides an exhibit on antique cars, airplanes and jets from the beginning of the construction to what they are know in the present.

Tate Modern

Another great museum/ gallery to visit while you're in London, U.K. is the Tate Modern. Crossing the Millennium Bridge the Tate Gallery will be right at the end. This gallery is London's best gallery of British and internnational modern and contemporary art.The Tate is divided into four museums around the UK such as Tate Liverpool, Tate Modern, Tate St.Ives and the Tate Britain.

I visited the Tate Modern which had this spider image on the left side but inside the museum itself. The staff was really strict in not letting cameras or pictures be taken inside the museum but besides that it's a very contemporary modern museum that shows videos, paintings and sculptures.

A painting in which caught my attention and had me going again just to see it once more was this painting by Wangechi Mutu and the portrait's name You Were Always on my Mind. I've tried to find an image of this painting but it's not available.

The Tate Modern has a great gift shop that I went splurging on but besides that Tate Modern is a must GO while visiting London.

The British Museum

I went to London, U.K. on January of 09 and visited The British Museum. This has to be the BEST museum I've ever been to. Not only was it established in 1753 and has the most prominent historical artifacts but it is huge!

I didn't know what I was getting myself into but as soon as you walk in and make a left to the Ancient Egyptian section, right there in front is the Rosetta Stone. This artifact that was instrumental in deciphering the Egyptain Hieroglyphic and language. These are artifacts that you only read in history textbooks. Needless to say everyone was towering over the glass trying to take pictures. I could barely take a picture but did catch a long glimpse of it.

The Greek and Roman Section had incredible artifacts with scupltures and surviving columns intact.

There is so much to see in The British Museum especially since the British have always conquered and explored territories that they were bound to collect and find these amazing artifacts.

American Musuem of Natural History

American Musuem of Natural History is well known for having amazing exhibitions but as well for being a huge tourist attraction. More now then ever since the movie Night at the Musuem starring Ben Stiller was filmed there.

It is located on 81st and Central Park West with the Planeturium extending to Coloumbus Avenue. It is known for it's dinosuar exhibition on the fourth floor but as well as its North American Mammals which are incredible to see how realistic and detailed they are portrayed on the first floor. This visit might take hours since there is so much to see and take in. It is very entertaining and educational at the same time that everyone should pay a visit.

Atoms for Peace

Atoms for Peace isn't a band you will know right off the bat. Perhaps it is because they're new but some of the members are well known in the music industry. It is Thom Yorke's side project besides Radiohead, it focuses on his solo album Eraser that came out in 2006. Another well known member is Flea from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers playing bass. They're playing a couple of shows in a few cities testing out their project before headlining The Coachella Festival.


I had the opportunity to have seen them on Monday, April 5th at Roseland Ballroom. The tickets went on sale a month prior and were sold out in 2 minutes and after that the tickets were being sold up to $400 for a single ticket.


The concert was amazing!!! The opening act was Flying Lotus ( Hip-Hop, Experimental, Psychedelic) music, people who like Drums and Bass would immediately know who he is. But the much anticipated musicians were Thom Yorke and Flea for every Radiohead fan and Red Hot Chilli Pepper fan. Even Flying Lotus after his set ended up sitting right affront of my friends and I and chatted a bit with us but when Atoms for Peace came out he took out his camera and started taking pictures like everyone in the venue.


Performances were great especially from Thom Yorke but then again he never disappoints. Highly recommend on checking Flying Lotus, Atoms for Peace which is Thom Yorke's solo project and most of all Radiohead!!! =)

The Met

Now that it's starting to feel like Spring time in the city, I decided to take a walk through central park since it's a few blocks away from where I live. Walked around and decided to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art which is located on 84th and 5th ave all the way to 80th and 5th ave.

I've never noticed this before but The Met is pretty huge and spacious. I've been here a couple of times especially in high school for art projects but this time it was different. I felt like I walked half of central park in this two floor museum which mind you is only four blocks. So I decided to give a brief overview of the amazing collections The Met has got to offer for the months of March and April.

**Note** The museum is open until 9p.m. on Friday and Saturdays. To enjoy it entirely wear the most comfortable shoes you own since you will do alot of walking and standing. But on the second floor for the Drawing and Prints collection there are benches in which you can seat, take a rest and enjoy the view.

Tim Burton Exhibit Coming to an End....

A widely known exhibit at the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in NYC is coming to an end on April 26, 2010. This exhibit showcases Tim Burton, an American director of such films as Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman and many more. Basically any film Johnny Depp as starred in Tim Burton has directed it as of late. If you're a fan of his films, the exhibit showcases his early sketches of every film he's made and also showcases some of the actual props used in them. But not only that it shows his early work as a teenager and his attempt of making short films. Some of his sketches are straight out humorous and dark at the same time as he tries to make fun of society and it's people. It is a must see exhibit that showcases abundance of his work and leaves the museum goers feeling overwhelmed after viewing his amazing artistic talent.

Yet if you're not familiar with all of Tim Burton's movies there also showings at the MoMa's theater of his movies if you want to catch up on his oldies which most of us have never seen on the big screen.

I recommend in buying the tickets online instead of showing up to the museum which are usually sold out. This exhibit has been going on since November and is now coming to an end. Perhaps it's an idea to check out during Spring Break!
